Kearny 9th Grades Shine at Innovation Challenge

Starting in Fall 2021, The Jacobs Institute for Innovation in Education at the University of San Diego launched the Jacobs Teen Innovation Challenge
#JTIC22. This worldwide event supported
educators and teenagers in developing social good solutions aligned to
the UN Global Goals.
The competition began with 120+ educators, 3100+ students, 15 countries, and 30 US states!
BST 9th graders Jeanelle Salva, Simat Sabri, and Janette Estrada took 2nd place overall! They proposed a multi-functional safety spray to help protect women.
EID 9th graders Leo Garcia and Aiden Gruby were one of two winning teams of the Photonics Innvoation Award! They designed an inexpensive and mobile way to provides millions of people access to electricity.
